NABU

Welcome to my NABU collection.

This page is a repository for all of the NABU systems, peripherals, and accessories in my collection – it’s currently a work-in-progress, and I’ll continue to add things as and when I have the time.

The NABU PC was the second home computer from the NABU Corporation in Ottawa, Canada, following their NABU 1100, and was released in 1983.

The NABU PC was quite revolutionary in that it didn’t have an onboard OS or application software – instead, software and informational content was downloaded via a cable TV modem, connected to the country-wide “NABU Network”.

When the NABU network was shut down in 1985, these computers became redundant, as they were useless without it. A large stock of new-in-box computers was found in 2022, and the NABU network has since been revived in an awesome effort by the retro computing community!
