The EG2000 was produced by Hong Kong-based EACA, and followed their earlier Video Genie I and II computers. The original Video Genies had been based upon (and broadly compatible with) the TRS-80 Model I – the Colour Genie was therefore incompatible with the newer TRS-80 Color Computer, which was based on an entirely different CPU.
